DECONSTRUCTING STRESS

Workplace stress increases work absenteeism, lowers productivity, and affects the overall well-being of the workforce. Whether it is remote, virtual, or in-person work, stress needs to be addressed for the health and wellbeing of the employee and the organization.

Strategies for managing stress in the workplace are many. However, the Deconstructing Stress program developed by Dr. Tom Alan-Livernois addresses the reciprocal nature of stress. Because individuals bring stress into work and the company gives stress to the individuals, managing and dealing with stress at work requires addressing the individual's needs as well as the team, leader, and organization.

Not all stress is equal. Stress will not go away on its own, it grows and festers. This program helps to change the way we think and relate to stress because some stress is a mindset. Some stress we can deal with on our own. Some stress we need support in dealing with. Still, other stressors are not the individuals but the organization's to address. This process blows up the way we normally think about stress in the workplace and redesigns the way we go about managing the process and the actions we take.

This is a program of action and solution for the individual and the leader. The result is a healthier way to process and deal with stress before it becomes unmanageable. A decrease in absenteeism increased productivity and an increase of the overall wellbeing of the individual and organization is our measure.
